Once upon a time, not so long ago we arrived at Panteg Farm, some sixty acres of beautiful coastal West Wales. We took in the view whilst taking on a number of disused barns. One of these had been known locally as the first industrialised milking parlour back in the ‘60’s, so it deserved to be treated especially. One thing led to another, and so the story goes that one day John went out for a beer and came back with the local brewery…a farm with a brewery. What more could you want?
Today our beer is brewed in the very same milking parlour, and you can enjoy tasting it in the old dairy, which we have painstakingly converted to our fabulous Tasting Room.
No farm is complete without a few well chosen animals. We are surrounded by sheep of course, but we also keep some very happy pigs in the yard and down in the woods. These pigs get to eat our spent mash, they each have a favourite brew, and in return they themselves taste all the more delicious.
Next up will be the planting of hops down in the cwm, a tradition that has been here at Panteg for decades, which takes us another step closer to our goal of producing all our own ingredients.
